Anticipated Projects
DRL Workers’ Rights in Africa- Mining, Manufacturing & Construction – (funded by US Department of State)
This anticipated project aims to assist:
(i) Workers apply their understanding of labor rights,
(ii) Workers and labor rights advocates effectively utilize systematically documented labor rights violations
in their claims for justice and accountability for labor abuses,
(iii) Labor rights advocates link with collaborative advocacy coalitions, and
(iv) Workers, independent worker organizations, and allied activists and groups denounce labor rights violations and conduct evidence-based advocacy for workers’ rights. The Project will have physical presence in Ghana and Liberia and digital presence across Africa.
Scaling Care Innovations in Africa – (funded by GAC/IDRC)
The Scaling Care Innovations in Africa initiative seeks to respond to the challenges and gaps in unpaid care through a focus on policy and program innovations related to the “3Rs”, namely recognize, reduce, and redistribute care work. Work supported under this initiative will be
guided by IDRC’s approach to scaling science, which focuses on impact in ways that maximize benefits to society.
Feed the Future Ghana Trade and Investment Activity – (funded by USAID, implemented by Nathan Associates)
Feed the Future Ghana Trade and Investment activity is a five-year project financed by USAID and implemented by Nathan Associates. The activity seeks to support Agribusiness SMEs (producers, processors, traders, and service providers) overcome the numerous constrains they
are faced with in the competitive field of trade and export growth.
Available Positions
1. Chief of Party (CoP)
Position Overview
Primary responsibilities are to provide overall leadership, management, and general technical direction
of the entire Project. Ensure project’s goals, objectives, and strategy are achieved and contractual
requirements are met on time and within budget. Lead in coordination of all activities. Oversee all
project staff and sub-partners. Work with various stakeholders, including high level government and
donor officials. Responsible for identifying issues and risks related to Project implementation in a timely
manner and suggest appropriate Project adjustments.
Please note that the COP position is only available for the Psychology Project and will be based in Ghana.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced Degree in International Relations, International Development, Economics, Organizational
Development, Institutional Development, Public Policy, Public Health, or relevant field. At least 10 years
of progressively responsible international development experience in managing and implementing
projects on/in Ghana, Liberia, or other West African country. Previous USAID, USG, UN, other donor CoP
or other managerial experience highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to interact regularly and
professionally with senior donor and government counterparts. Strong financial management,contracts,
and negotiations skills required. Demonstrated managerial,organizational,administrative
skills required. Fluency in written and spoken English required.
2. Deputy Chief of Party (CoP)
Position Overview
Primary responsibility is to assist the CoP in implementing the Project. Act as Chief in CoP’s absence.
Ensure smooth and timely administration of Project. Lead report preparation. Represent CoP at high
level engagements when required. Work with various stakeholders, including high level government
and donor officials, as directed. Help identify issues and risks related to Project implementation and
suggest appropriate mitigation and management measures.
Please note that the DCOP position is only available for the Psychology Project and will be based in
Ghana.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced Degree in International Relations, International Development, Economics, Organizational
Development, Institutional Development, Public Policy, Public Health, or relevant field. At least 8 years
of progressively administering projects on/in Ghana, Liberia, or other West African country at the
operations level. Previous USAID, USG, UN, other donor administrative experience highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interact regularly and professionally with senior donor and government
counterparts. Strong financial management, contracts, and human resource skills required.
Demonstrated managerial, organizational, administrative skills required. Fluency in written and spoken
English required.
3. Project Manager (PM)
Objectives of the Position
Regularly prepare and present updates. Build and develop the Project team. Budget estimations, and
implementation plans, including risk mitigation and management. Coordinate internal and external
resources. Analyze Project status to ensure that Project requirements can be met on schedule.
Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Please note that the PM positions are available for all three (3) Projects.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree (+5 years’ experience) or master’s degree (+2 years’ experience) in a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and or Certified Associate in Project Management
(CAPM) and or PRINCE2 is a plus. Proven experience in project management. Ability to lead project teams
of various sizes and see them through to completion. Experience with USG, USAID or other donor projects
required. Budget formulation and management experience required. Excellent written and verbal
communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving, mentoring, coaching and
leadership skills. Work planning, risk management, time management and other management skills. Strong
working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software.
4. Technical Lead (TL)
Position Overview
Oversee the Project’s Technical Team and all activities it undertakes. Analyze and access briefs. Write and
disseminate progress reports. Identify, mitigate, and manage risks. Develop work schedules.
Please note that the TL positions are available for all three (3) Projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (+5 years’ experience) or master’s degree (+2 years’ experience) in required in
relevant field. Solid experience as a Team Leader or similar role. Knowledge of performance metrics.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Strong leadership, organizational and capacity building skills.
Analytical and critical thinking; and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal
skills.
5. Accountant
Position Overview
Provide accurate quantitative information on financial position. Ensure compliance with all relevant
laws, regulations, financial reporting, and other standard accounting procedures. Responsible for
financial audits, management and reporting of financial data, and accuracy of financial records. Manage
all financial transactions. Assist with budgets and financial forecasting.
Please note that the Accountant positions are available for all three (3) Project.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree. Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP. Hands-on
experience with accounting software like FreshBoo.s and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills
including Vlookups and pivot tables. Experience with general ledger functions and a flair for spotting
numerical mistakes. Understanding of mathematics, accounting, and financial processes. Strong attention
to detail and analytical skills. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate
complex quantitative data to decision-makers. High level of integrity and ethics.
6. Clinical Psychologist (CL)
Position Overview
In a compassionate and unprejudiced manner, use scientific methods to identify and diagnose
psychological, emotional, and behavioral issues in clients; and develop and implement appropriate
treatment plans. Instrumental in applying the developed interventions by utilizing various treatment
strategies, such as behavior modification and stress reduction therapy to help clients overcome their
psychological challenges and improve their lives. Continuously measure the success, or otherwise, of
treatment programs, and make changes where necessary.
Please note that the CL position is only available for the Psychology Project and will be based in Ghana.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in clinical psychology preferred. Licensed by the Ghana Psychology Council or other
equivalent licensing entity, required. Minimum of four (4) years’ experience – specialist psychological
assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychological issues of varying severity and complexity.
Proficient with psychological therapies, risk assessment, training, supervision, planning, performing
psychological interventions, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrated ability to be unprejudiced
and have keen observational and analytical skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills in
English. Ability to communicate professionally in Ga and or Twi a plus. High level of integrity, ethics and
helping others required.
7. Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (MEO)
Position Overview
Provides: (i) overall technical support and quality assurance for Project M&E, (ii) leadership to the
implementation of the Project’s Results-Based M&E Plan, (iii) capacity and systems development and
thematic and cross-country evaluations, and (iv) technical leadership to develop the program
framework, plans and indicators.
Please note that the MEO positions are available for all three (3) Projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in demography, statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, Social Sciences, public
health, or another relevant field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 4 years of increasingly
responsible professional experience. Knowledge of and experience in USAID (MEL, CLA) or other donors
M&E frameworks, required. Proven experience with statistical applications and data analysis; familiarity
with both qualitative and quantitative information analysis tools. Strong communication (written and
oral) and analytical skills.
8. Project Officer (PO)
Position Overview
Serve as a member of the project team. Responsible for implementation of the project in assigned
geographic area. Help develop methods of activities and task development and implementation.
Contribute to report preparation and budget formulation. Assist the PM regarding regular updates and
progress of the project, correspondence with partners on project and strategic interventions. Deliver
presentations and facilitate events.
Please note that the PO position is only available for the Psychology Project and will be based in Ghana.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree (+2 years’ experience) required. Master’s degree (+1 year experience) a plus in a
related field (i.e. Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health). Other related certification a plus. Proven experience in project implementation. Experience working with government partners, donors, civil society, marginalized people, and communities. Team player. Experience with USG, USAID, or other
donor projects. Excellent written and oral communication, analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving,
and interpersonal skills. Work planning, risk management, organizational and time management skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software.
9. Office Manager (OM)
Position Overview
Significant coordination skills, experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties and executive support-related tasks, ability to work independently with little or no supervision and ability to wear multiple hats. High levels of energy, organized, flexible, and enjoys the administrative challenges of supporting an
office and project of diverse people.
Please note that the OM position is only available for the Psychology Project and will be based in Ghana.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Two or more years of experience in office management. Experience in
helping develop and maintain internal systems and processes. High degree of flexibility, and excellent
multitasking ability. Advanced computer skills and experience with online platforms including a high
degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to maintain
confidentiality of company and Project information. Excellent time management skills and ability to
multitask and prioritize work. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
